About this petition
Seminole Heights Dog Park,Tampa
The goal is to build a dog park in our historic neighborhood at Henry and Ola Park. We want and need this park in order to continue the trend of walking neighborhoods. We're 5 miles north of downtown Tampa with no dog park to walk to. We have to drive or take public transport to the nearest leash-less dog park. But only those with a service dog or guide dog can use the bus, all other dogs are prohibited on public transport. We have hundreds of dog owners with nowhere to take their dogs and allow them to run leash less. These are but a few reasons why a local leash-less dog park is needed. Tampa and its Historic Districts need to be recognized as a dog friendly city and you can help us do it by signing this petition (The City of Tampa regularly views this site).
How will we make it happen?
By working in partnership with local & corporate business i.e. Publix, Gott Glass Sculpture Gallery, Health Mutt, Courteous Canine, Community Associations, The Independent, Boy Scouts... Having old fashioned front porch fundraisers... We will also ask local and corporate businesses to make a capital charitable contribution to build the park (Any contributions can be a tax write-off as a charitable contribution.
What we need to start:
A. Organizing Committee
i. Fundraising
ii. Business liaison for Capital investments
iii. Community Fundraiser iv. City Liaison v. Community Outreach vi. Outreach Liaison for companies doing the work
vii. Media Liaison viii. Community Association Liaison
B. Who / What / Supplies we need to do the charitable work
